Dolissa Medina

Dolissa Medina was born and raised in South Texas and began her filmmaking career in San Francisco in 2000. Her work explores the mythic dimensions of history and urban places.  Her films have screened in San Francisco, Rotterdam, Ann Arbor, Mexico City, and Oberhausen, Germany. The recipient of a 2010-11 Fulbright Fellowship to Berlin, Medina has also received grants from the San Francisco Arts Commission and the Pacific Pioneer Fund.  She holds a B.A. in Journalism from San Francisco State University and an MFA in Visual Art from UC-San Diego. Medina resides in Germany.
